Amtrak Selects the XD2000 for Onboard Acceptance of Card-based Payments
The Nations Rail Service Set to Offer Real-Time Onboard Credit Card Acceptance for Food and Beverage Services with the Deployment of the XD2000 Wireless Solution

JACKSONVILLE, FL - March 19, 2007 - ExaDigm, Inc, the leading innovator of wireless and wired point-of-sale (POS) terminal solutions, today announced at the 2007 Southeast Acquirers Association Annual Conference that it has been selected by Amtrak to provide mobile wireless payment terminals enabling onboard acceptance, and real-time processing of, card-based payments for food and beverage services.

Following extensive trials which began in 2006 on passenger trains operating in Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, ExaDigm's XD2000 Wireless Solution will be deployed on all Amtrak trains offering food and beverage service throughout the US. Amtrak's onboard deployment of mobile payment terminals for food and beverage service is centered on an initiative which will result in the implementation of a faster, easier payment process for customers; increased revenue through the provision of an additional payment option for customers that increases the dollars spent per transaction; reduction of credit card losses through the transmission of credit card transaction data electronically at the time of purchase; and a reduction in the risk of credit card fraud by obtaining credit card authorization at the time of purchase.

Featuring an unparalleled level of security with VISA CISP PABP validation and 256-bit SSL encryption at the time of card swipe; true modularity delivering the flexibility to easily change wireless connectivity through a simple swap of a modem; and a PC-based architecture and Linux operating system ensuring rapid and cost-effective application changes, updates and customization; the XD2000 is not only intuitive and easy to use, its form factor is one that is ideally suited for use in an onboard environment. In addition, ExaDigm completed application customization for the XD2000 delivering the added functionality of item/price lookup for all food and beverage service items, detailed sales report generation and a sophisticated inventory control feature, enabling Amtrak to streamline and better manage onboard food and beverage services.

"Amtrak's decision to deploy the XD2000 Wireless Solution not only represents an important milestone for ExaDigm, it yet again validates the forward-thinking approach we have taken in bringing the latest technologies, advanced design, and true innovation to the point-of-sale industry," said Michael Mulcahy, President and COO of ExaDigm. "We are delighted to be partnering with Amtrak to bring mobile card-based payment acceptance to their customers and look forward to expanding our relationship in the future."

Amtrak will commence a nationwide rollout of the XD2000 on April 1, 2007 to all trains offering food and beverage services. It is anticipated that a full deployment will be completed by April 30, 2007.
