ExaDigm XD2000SP Achieves PCI PED Security Approval First modular PC-based payment terminal to meet Visa & MasterCard requirements |

SANTA ANA, CA - March 6, 2006 - ExaDigm, Inc., the leading innovator of wireless and wired point-of-sale (POS) terminal solutions, today announced that its XD2000SP payment terminal has met the requirements of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) PIN Entry Device (PED) standard established for point-of-sale PIN entry devices. The XD2000SP is the first fully modular, PC-based payment terminal to meet the requirements established by Visa International and MasterCard International, which have been designed to ensure that PIN-based payment transactions meet the highest level of security.
The PCI PED approval certifies that both the physical design of the XD2000SP PIN entry device and the software that is associated with it have been validated by an independent testing organization recognized by Visa and MasterCard. This latest approval further adds to the XD2000 product lines exacting security standards. The first POS terminal to receive Visa CISP validation, it features the highest levels of security and fraud resistance including 256-bit SSL encryption active at the time of card swipe.
"As the first terminal manufacturer to implement the most exacting security standards in all our products, such as Visa CISP validation and SSL encryption, ExaDigm has continuously demonstrated a long standing commitment to security," said Michael Mulcahy, President and COO of ExaDigm. "The addition of PCI PED approval allows ExaDigm to offer what is, arguably, the most secure payment terminal on the market today ensuring our customer's risk is significantly reduced."
The XD2000SP, part of the XD2000 line of payment terminals, features a fully modular design and PC-based Linux operating system, providing a single terminal platform that offers multiple connectivity options, easy software upgrades and enhancements, and simple configuration to adapt to new technologies. Through this unique modular format and interchangeable modems supporting IP (Ethernet), WiFi, CDMA, GSM, Bluetooth˘ç and dial-up connections, the XD2000SP is equally efficient as a desktop unit or as a pointer-held, mobile device.
Currently in production, the XD2000SP is the ideal platform for the integration of a range of value-added applications and incorporates the technology to accept traditional and emerging payment types including credit/debit cards, smart cards and contactless payment.
